I walked around all the booths at the National Stationery Show from 10a to 3p! I’m exhausted! And the show was smaller than usual (as I suspected it would be). This show happens once a year and usually 2,500+ greeting card manufacturers show their new designs.

Most of the vendors were regulars. Few newcomers. The usual big guys were there. None of them (except Avanti Press) had one parrot-themed greeting card.

Avanti Press (http://www.avantipress.com/) had 2 parrot cards. One was introduced a couple of years ago featuring an anniversary card with 2 cockatoos. The new card this year has a macaw dressed in a parrot costume. (I’m a big fan of Avanti Press. I aspire to be as good as they are in graphic and verse.) I want to send a BIG congratulations to Avanti Press. They won many greeting card ‘academy’ awards (called the Louie Awards) in 13 key categories.

I saw one new greeting card company called “From Your Pet” (http://fromyourpet.com/). Mostly dogs and a few cat designs.

As far as greeting cards…that’s it. Nothing else special out of all those vendors. Scarlet’s Feathers is STILL the ONLY versed parrot-themed greeting cards. The only one that understands Companion Parrot Attitude.

Next post I’ll talk about printers and environmental papers. Right now, I need to go soak my poor aching feet!
